A solid beginner strain for outdoor budget growers
The seed germinated without any problems in seedling soil in March. I then continued growing it in a 20-litre container filled with a mixture of Terra Preta and inexpensive potting soil from a discount shop, placed on a south-facing balcony.
Topping the main shoot once encouraged branching, although my training technique could certainly still be improved. From the beginning of July, I induced flowering for around four weeks by placing the plant in a dark wardrobe every night for more than 12–14 hours. From August onwards, it continued under the natural day-and-night cycle at approximately 48° north latitude.
The plant developed two main colas and reached around 1.3 metres above the top of the pot. I harvested it around mid-September after the first signs of grey mould appeared during a period of poor weather. Until then, there had been no problems at all with pests or diseases.
The effects are solid and balanced. It is not quite as stimulating as fans of pure sativas might prefer, but it offers the broad range of effects associated with THC-dominant strains. There are certainly stronger varieties, but Skunk is simply straightforward to grow. In a humid climate, some form of rain cover is definitely advisable, especially on a balcony.
